As one of Britain’s major container ports, the Port of Felixstowe offers Marine Services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring vessel arrivals and departures are carried out safely and efficiently for our customers.
As the Felixstowe dock and Railway Company, we are a Statutory and Competent Harbour Authority and are fully compliant with the requirements set out in the Port Marine Safety Code.
The Ports and Marine Facilities Safety Code (PMSC) serves to highlight the responsibilities that are allied to being a Statutory Harbour Authority and establishes a requirement for all Harbour Authorities, terminals and marine facilities to formalise their procedures and confirm compliance with the Code. One of these requirements is to identify the Duty Holder responsible for marine safety. The Executive Committee serves Hutchison Ports UK (HPUK) and individual Executive members are designated as specific Duty Holders for each location. In the case of the Port of Felixstowe, the Chief Operating Officer Robert Ashton fulfils this function.
