The best of Felixstowe High School’s ‘Tech Talent’ visited the Port of Felixstowe recently to gain an understanding of opportunities at the port.

The best of Felixstowe High School’s ‘Tech Talent’ visited the Port of Felixstowe recently to gain an understanding of opportunities at the port and the skills and capabilities required to work for us, as well as some practical hints and tips on how to apply for jobs.

The students had a 3-hour programme of activities supported by the port’s Operations, Engineering and Human Resources departments. As part of the visit, the students had the opportunity to visit our remote suite and take part in a simulator exercise as well as try-out the training quay crane and yard crane simulators. The visit was a resounding success with one of the students deciding to apply to the port’s 2024 Engineering Apprenticeship Campaign.
